If you want to be listened to and to feel your concerns are understood as well as have your pet handled with care and respect, Prairie Animal Hospital is the veterinary service for you. Doctors as well as staff are welcoming, concerned, and friendly. They are interested in hearing your concerns and welcome questions in developing plans for care for your pet. We went through a series of health concerns regarding our aging dog and the doctor presented options and approaches and welcomed our decisions. Our dog Maia was treated very well to the end and we will be forever grateful for the care we all received though the trying time at the end. I’d give PAH a 5 star excellence rating! (On a scale of 1-5).

The care given to our beloved dogs by you and your staff has always been "outstanding in the field" and for that we will be forever grateful. One of the lines in a favorite song of mine, is "nobody does it better", and that goes for Prairie Animal Hospital for all the love and care that has been given to our sweet dogs and to us over the years. We always give you and your wonderful staff many Gold Stars when telling others where we have always taken our dogs for TLC. We know that when they have crossed the Rainbow Bridge they will all be together again, and for that we are truly thankful.

I've been taking our dog Boots here since we adopted him 9 yrs ago. The staff and docs are great. Boots loves to visit! He enjoys the attention and the treats. I really appreciate the fact that the Doctors are conservative with their approach. They always are considerate of the cost and stress on the pet so never rush to recommend expensive treatments unless it is absolutely necessary. I highly recommend them!

On April 28th, 2017 I had to make the awful decision to put Milo, my almost 14 year old yellow lab, to sleep. He had a massive tumor on his hind leg and it was making it impossible for him to get around. It was important for me to have Dr. Raabe come to my house for this because I wanted Milo to be as comfortable as possible (and he hated going to the vet because he didn't like walking on tile floors :). With that being said, I asked Dr. Raabe if he could come to my house and he obliged. He and his assistant Andrea made a completely heartbreaking moment of my life a little more tolerable. They were professional and caring. They gave my Milo the best of care and for that I am so thankful. I recently received a card from them saying they made a monetary donation to the Humane Society in Milo's honor. That gesture meant so much to me. I miss him so much, but am so thankful that he was in the best of hands with Dr. Raabe and his assistant. If you are ever looking for a vet in the North Prairie area, please don't hesitate. They are amazing.

Prairie Animal Hosp. was recommended to us by a friend. We couldn't be happier. It's a rural setting, looks like home; it's clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly and so helpful, the techs and Drs. are wonderful....caring and concerned and most of all patient and kind to our beloved pets. You never feel like you are being rushed out of there, they address all your questions and you leave feeling hopeful. And their prices are affordable so you can do what needs to be done without busting your wallet. I would recommend them without hesitation. Grateful for sure.

We had a wonderful experience at Prairie Animal Hospital! The time frame to get in as a new patient was good, the staff is friendly and Dr. Raabe is great! He spent a lot of time with us explaining our dog's disease and our options. Not too mention the terrific lady that scrapped plaque off my dogs teeth while he was awake! Wow! What a great group of people! My dog was in lots of pain and couldn't even walk or eat! I was so upset that my regular vet wouldn't see him for 2 days! They realized how serious this could be and saw me 20 min later (even though I was NOT a regular customer)! The vet on staff quickly found the problem and issued pain meds and antibiotics! How thoughtful the staff was to play with my 3 year old daughter so I could be there during the exam ! I was so worried about my dog (Party) .I couldn't be more thankful for the selfless act of kindness and experience that I experienced last night!

My partner and I have taken our two dogs to this clinic since their birth, and I transferred my cat over there after our move into the area. Every appointment has been met with attentiveness, kindness, competence, and flexibility. We usually meet with Dr. Raabe, but all of the vets and vet techs we've encountered have appeared to prioritize us and our animals while we were there. We've also appreciated the straight forward nature in which any issues/suggestions were addressed, without the advertisement or recommendation of unnecessary products or procedures.

My family has been going to Prairie Animal hospital for over 30 years! Once Dr Jaeger retired we started seeing Dr Svang! We were in yesterday with our two dogs for a check-up and she spent extra time with us discussing the needs of our dogs!!! She asked many questions and didn't want be too quick to come to a conclusion. She wasn't quick to dismiss our concerns. We want to give a BIG thank you to Dr Svang for taking the extra time. Her assistant Andrea was super great too!!!

First visit with Dr Svang...on my bulldog's birthday today! Dr Svang was terrific! She got right down on the floor with my dog, worked from least to most invasive in her exam, explained dog anatomy in terms an everyday human could understand, was reasonable and thoughtful in her approach, ordered no unnecessary tests or medications, placed her emphasis on the animal-human connection, and treated my dog and this human with respect. And the bill for all of this was completely reasonable (and certainly less expensive than what we've been charged elsewhere). Simply could not be happier!

I am the owner of a newer rescue dog, having to take a work trip I brought him to be boarded because it was close and they seem busy. I am not happy with the with both the service, and I feel I was over charged for treatments to have my dog to be boarded. Then after I come home my dog now has Kennel Cough. They will give me a free exam but then I have to buy the medication from then. Being a rescue dog of only 3 months and to his normal Vet two weeks before for shots he was in perfect health! After taking him here I am now have a sick dog and they won't cover treatments for something he got at their facility. Even if I have to drive 20mins to his normal vet I will do it for sure. First impression was horrible very disappointed, I will never bring my dog back to them for anything!

If I could give this place a minus star I would. Yes, it is a nice looking facility, clean and well staffed, but be aware if you plan to board your dog there. They had my dog for one hour in their care after I dropped her off for boarding, and they LOST HER. They gave us very little help with finding her. My husband found her after an exhausting search for over an hour in the dark, cold and in the country. They didn't even care enough to ask if she was ok or offer to exam her for cuts or sprains. We took her home immediately after we found her only to discover that she didn't even have her collar on with her identification with my name, address and phone number! We never heard from them after this nightmare asking how our dog is. Be aware if you board your dog with them, you might get a phone call that they lost your dog. It was a nightmare for us and it could be for you.

Prairie Animal Hosp. was recommended to us by a friend. We couldn't be happier. It's a rural setting, looks like home; it's clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly and so helpful, the techs and Drs. are wonderful....caring and concerned and most of all patient and kind to our beloved pets. You never feel like you are being rushed out of there, they address all your questions and you leave feeling hopeful. And their prices are affordable so you can do what needs to be done without busting your wallet. I would recommend them without hesitation. Grateful for sure.

We had a wonderful experience at Prairie Animal Hospital! The time frame to get in as a new patient was good, the staff is friendly and Dr. Raabe is great! He spent a lot of time with us explaining our dog's disease and our options. Not too mention the terrific lady that scrapped plaque off my dogs teeth while he was awake! I am referring all of my friends to Prairie Animal Hospital!

Wow! What a great group of people! My dog was in lots of pain and couldn't even walk or eat! I was so upset that my regular vet wouldn't see him for 2 days! They realized how serious this could be and saw me 20 min later (even though I was NOT a regular customer)! The vet on staff quickly found the problem and issued pain meds and antibiotics! How thoughtful the staff was to play with my 3 year old daughter so I could be there during the exam ! I was so worried about my dog (Party) .I couldn't be more thankful for the selfless act of kindness and experience that I experienced last night!

My partner and I have taken our two dogs to this clinic since their birth, and I transferred my cat over there after our move into the area. Every appointment has been met with attentiveness, kindness, competence, and flexibility. We usually meet with Dr. Raabe, but all of the vets and vet techs we've encountered have appeared to prioritize us and our animals while we were there. We've also appreciated the straight forward nature in which any issues/suggestions were addressed, without the advertisement or recommendation of unnecessary products or procedures.

My family has been going to Prairie Animal hospital for over 30 years! Once Dr Jaeger retired we started seeing Dr Svang! We were in yesterday with our two dogs for a check-up and she spent extra time with us discussing the needs of our dogs!!! She asked many questions and didn't want be too quick to come to a conclusion. She wasn't quick to dismiss our concerns. We want to give a BIG thank you to Dr Svang for taking the extra time. Her assistant Andrea was super great too!!!

First visit with Dr Svang...on my bulldog's birthday today! Dr Svang was terrific! She got right down on the floor with my dog, worked from least to most invasive in her exam, explained dog anatomy in terms an everyday human could understand, was reasonable and thoughtful in her approach, ordered no unnecessary tests or medications, placed her emphasis on the animal-human connection, and treated my dog and this human with respect. And the bill for all of this was completely reasonable (and certainly less expensive than what we've been charged elsewhere). Simply could not be happier!

I am the owner of a newer rescue dog, having to take a work trip I brought him to be boarded because it was close and they seem busy. I am not happy with the with both the service, and I feel I was over charged for treatments to have my dog to be boarded. Then after I come home my dog now has Kennel Cough. They will give me a free exam but then I have to buy the medication from then. Being a rescue dog of only 3 months and to his normal Vet two weeks before for shots he was in perfect health! After taking him here I am now have a sick dog and they won't cover treatments for something he got at their facility. Even if I have to drive 20mins to his normal vet I will do it for sure. First impression was horrible very disappointed, I will never bring my dog back to them for anything!

If I could give this place a minus star I would. Yes, it is a nice looking facility, clean and well staffed, but be aware if you plan to board your dog there. They had my dog for one hour in their care after I dropped her off for boarding, and they LOST HER. They gave us very little help with finding her. My husband found her after an exhausting search for over an hour in the dark, cold and in the country. They didn't even care enough to ask if she was ok or offer to exam her for cuts or sprains. We took her home immediately after we found her only to discover that she didn't even have her collar on with her identification with my name, address and phone number! We never heard from them after this nightmare asking how our dog is. Be aware if you board your dog with them, you might get a phone call that they lost your dog. It was a nightmare for us and it could be for you.

I have seen all the Doctors at the hospital, they are ALL caring and compassionate. The Dr's take their time and spend any time needed to explain everything!!! ALL the staff is outstanding! Thank you!
