In 2012, my cat as of then, 13 years old - was diagnosed with diabetes. I had numerous vet visits & correspondence with many members of the clinic. All I can say is, WOW - clerical staff, vet techs & all other associate veterinarians were top-notch!!! However, the impetus for this review is for Dr. JIM STEVENSON & Dr. Molly Stevenson, proprietors of a vet establishment that genuinely & earnestly always seemed to honestly CARE over profits. Moreover, the prices were always very reasonable (very reasonable for all pertinent care dating back to 2012). Unfortunately, I had to have my benevolent and ever-loving frisky feline euthanized in January. I went with the option of doing it at home for his comfort. He was a good dude to all around him since the last millennium ended. He was a LOVER to all creatures - cats, people and little kids that occasionally surrounded him. I had to do right by him. I am extremely happy I went with the home euthanization for my cat. I also extremely recommend it to anyone who loves their pet, and wants them to pass in comfort at home. Dr. Jim Stevenson came to my home and met my sisters whom were crying & myself, quite nervous of what I was about to witness. He made the situation so much more bearable and with so much care - again. He answered my sisters' & my many nervous questions eloquently, patiently and knowledgeably. He acted as if he had all the time in the world - and waited until we had comprehensively said our "good byes." Thank you vet Jim, you're excellent at what you do!!! I do not trust my animals anywhere else. They take their time, do it right, and explain options in simple terms. Most places say what is to be done their way, this place takes time to explain all the options, not just the one they recommend. They are the best in my opinion. Read Less

All of the staff here is incredible! We have been coming here for years, but recently had a major surgery for our dog and the Dr was so attentive and helpful and took the time to talk with us, sit in the room and answer all of our questions, and any time I called with questions, it was him that called us back. Dr. Stevenson and his team are the best. My dog tore her ACL and needed surgery. What could have been a scary and difficult experience was quite the opposite. Dr. Stevenson was amazing about answering all my questions and educating me on every option available. He relayed the information in a manner that was easy to understand. We have been to the vet twice this week urgently because my dog seemed to be in pain. These we actually the best visits we have had in a very long time. They got us in right away and they did a complete exam. While we still dont know what is wrong with our dog, at least we are eliminating things as we go and she is on pain meds so her pain has eased. I would have given them a 5 but after spending $175 for the "sick dog" package, they charged me $28 to take her blood pressure and did not mention ahead of time how much this would cost. Dr, Alli Uphill saved my dogs life! Finnegan was near death when Dr. Alli saw him. Diabetes related. He is now getting two shots of insulin daily and hundreds of "shots" of love! Doctor Stevenson is hands down one of the best veterinarians I've dealt with. He is so easy to talk to, he's honest and very kind. Dr. Stevenson will repeat himself as many times as I need him to so I understand our complex senior pup. He's been caring for our pup off and on through the years but pretty often lately. I wouldn't see anyone but him o Dr. Rachel Orvick. Both are rockstars and know all sides of running a business- the work and customer service! We have been bringing our Brittany here since we brought her home as a puppy. I can't say enough good things about this place! My dog has become terrified of going to the vet, but Dr. Oaks does an amazing job with her and has even offered to have our dog, Kimber, come in to visit to make her more comfortable there. Kimber dislikes going, but we love Dr. Oaks and all of the staff at OVC. Took our cat in to have his stool removed due to his megacolon. He died 3 hours after we took him home. In fact, when we tried to take him out of his carrier, we found his back legs were not working. The vet who cared for him mentioned nothing other than our kitty also had a fever and sent us home with meds. Our buddy was yowling in pain when we got home. We tried to take his temperature, but his rear end was so widened that we couldn't get a reading with a thermometer, it also wouldn't hold the thermometer as it should on any kitty. Our cat died 3 hours after we took him home from having a stool blockage from having feline megacolon. He had to be put under anesthesia. Picked him up to take him home and when we tried to let him out of his carrier, he couldn't get out. When we removed him by hand, his legs were not working and he passed away shortly thereafter. The vet never said anything to us other than he also had a fever which they had gotten down and sent us home with meds. We tried to take his temp through his rear, and it was so " wide open" that the thermometer wouldn't even give a reading, let alone hold the thermometer. WTF? Please, do not go to this place. I brought my male cat in to get treated for crystals in his urine. This is a recurring problem for him (every 9-12 months) and he's been treated for this issue at clinic several times. They prescribed him medication that was supposed to clear it up. He got worse and ended up with blood in his urine. Took him to a different emergency vet. When the ER vet saw his Rx they told me that he was given a common drug given for female cats with bladder infections and would never clear his crystals. In fact I was told it was negligent for Oregon Vet Clinic to prescribe it. Luckily I got my cat properly cared for the 2nd time around, but do not appreciate the stress it caused my cat or the money it cost me. I always thought the service was rude, but overlooked it. Giving my cat the wrong meds for an obvious problem can not be overlooked. I will not be back. Read Less

Dr. Stevenson is the only Veterinarian I trust to take care of my furbabies. I've had other vets here and they don't have nearly the personal care that Dr. Stevenson extends to our pets, who are family to us.The prices are very reasonable for the amount of knowledge you are receiving. Trust us, we've been to UW Veterinary Clinic countless of times, who boasts Board Certified Vets, and feel Dr. Stevenson has the equal amount of expertise, if not more due to the fact that he has awesome bedside manners.We've been to other vet clinics before coming here only to have to answer the same questions about the background of our dogs, their ailments repeatedly. Feeling like another number to most, Dr. Stevenson is the exception. He's sharp and remembers every treatment, procedure, and medication your pet has been on. Dr. Stevenson is also very honest. They do a lot of procedures and are able to run numerous tests in house. Both my cat & dog love Dr.Alli for their primary care, and in an emergency last week, Dr.Rachel was wonderful with Bilbo Waggins. All the staff is friendly & smiling. My husband was out of town when my dog got sick. I brought in a stool sample to the clinic but I had my two babies in the car with me. It was a really cold night so I called the desk to see if someone could come out and grab the sample from me. Not only did they say, "absolutely." They also brought out the form for me to fill out. If I could give 10 stars, I would. My Siamese cat Frankie ingested a large amount of fishing line and I discovered it in the middle of the night when I found a knotted ball hanging from his bottom. It was stuck and I knew it was bad news. I first called another local emergency vet, being that it was midnight. Well, they wanted a minimum of $300 just to look at him (not including tests/xrays etc). They were also adamant that he would likely die without an expensive surgery. Being a single mother without a fluffy bank account I held off until morning, completely devastated. I called OVC promptly at 8am and they fit him right in, even though he had never been seen there before. After all was said and done, I left with a bill of less than $70 and my precious little buddy good as new. I went from thinking I was going to have to tell my children our sweet little guy was dead, to crying tears of joy. Thank you OVC for being so honest and caring. Last week was a very hard week for me. Oregon Vet by far is the best vet I've been to in a long time. I had to put down my 11 year old baby and I am very satisfied with the way Oregon Vet helped me through the tough time. It was so peaceful. I'm sorry I didn't catch the name of the veterinarian but he was amazing. My mind wad a little preoccupied. He answered all of my questions and made my lexi feel safe and at ease. He acted like my lexi was his. I needed that. It was so nice to see compassion. He pet her and made her comfertable even after she passed. I will be recommending this vet to all of my friends and family. He was Amazing. I love my new vet!!. The staff was great as well. Overall a great way to say goodbye to my best friend. Read Less

I would not trust these people, or take them on their word. I called to pick up a cat that they were giving away. When I first called they told me to just come and pick up the cat. I asked if the cat got along with dogs and told her we had a 5 lb dog. She said that they put the cat around a dog and she was fine. Well when we drove over there (as a surprise to the g/kids) they told us we couldn't take the cat home as Mini (or 5 lb dog) was not spade. What a joke. We are 1 of the few that actually take care of our animals and they won't allow us to take her. Please just don't trust them. Read Less
