I'm leaving this review in hopes that the leadership of St. Francis Animal Hospital will use it to improve. If you want to retain customers, you must address your reception team- particularly when it comes to phone etiquette. We are patients and had a very sick kitten. After the initial visit our vet invited me to call back if symptoms worsened. When I did so, it was apparent I was bothering the receptionist and was told "your vet is not in today", like that's an adequate res...ponse to an owner calling for help with a sick patient. To be fair, I pushed back and a very kind vet called me back to offer care options. Another time I was told "We're very busy right now, it's heart worm season for dogs". Ultimately, we've taken our business to Oak Creek Veterinary Care (which I highly recommend on all fronts). Again, no knocks against the vets or technicians but reception is the face and voice of your business and I'd revisit who you trust with that privilege. See More Read Less

My wife and I got our first dog (Chinese Shar Pei) recently and were nervous about taking care of him correctly. They answered all of our questions and were very knowledgeable about the breed. They never made us feel stupid about any of the basic and probably silly questions we were asking. Everyone there was super nice. Even the lady’s at the desk were friendly and cheerful. I adopted two kittens and got a free checkup for both my cats from the humane Society. Chose this place because its right down the street from me. The Vet was super nice knew what she was doing. Explained a lot of the details of what she was doing and asked a lot of questions about cats and if they were getting along and such. Ok pricing on vaccine but convenient. Read Less

Amy was real nice with Sandy and took real good care of her. It was Sandy's first time there. Amy came out to the waiting room and seen her out there first then went back in room and left her off the leash to look around the room. She ask us what was going on with her and explain what she was going to do and how to take care of Sandy at home. We recently moved to Milwaukee and had to switch vets. I could not be more happy with the place we chose! They are so understanding, and did everything that was best for our dog (who has terrible anxiety at the vet). They allowed him to be comfortable and did everything in his best interest. My bf has been going to this clinic for many years with good results. Over the last few years I have also witnessed the same good care for our pets. Dr. Flynn is wonderful. Always interested in our dogs and recently just spayed our little girl and will be doing the same for our other girl. They love her too. As for the fees, while we all wish the cost of medicine for our pets (as well as ourselves) was less, it's what we have to pay and I believe St. Francis' rates are very competitive. Read Less

Loved St. Francis Animal Hospital! Both my dog and I didn't have a long wait in reception area before my appointment, which was great since the lobby is a fairly small area and my dog is enormous.  The veterinarian greeted my dog nicely and did a thorough exam without any hassle.  Both the vet tech and the veterinarian were both very gentle while giving shots and taking a blood sample, which made my dog feel comfortable the whole time. Lots of treats were given from all the staff members, which I'm sure made my dog's visit to the vet bearable. One of the rare occasions I wish Yelp had a 6 Star button!  We moved here in April from the west coast and I was very worried about finding the right vet for our fur babies.  I went to Yelp for suggestions and found St. Francis Animal Hospital.After getting an appointment (first time took 3 weeks) we went to see Dr. Rossmiller and we loved her!  First I love the way she introduces herself to our dogs.  She comes to the lobby herself and spends a few minutes giving hugs and love before taking your pet to the exam room.Once in the room they always have at least a couple of assistants who also introduce and love on your pets as well.  Dr. Rossmiller is very conservative in her approach which I really appreciate.  She was so good at telling me the different things our dogs would need because we had changed climates.  She is great at suggesting the right tests when there is a problem and about being proactive.  I get all of their medications filled there as well which makes everything very simple.  They also have an online appointment booker and messaging system which I really love because it cuts back on time!Whenever the dogs get sick or I have a concern they are really good about getting me in and my dogs are not nervous when we go to the vet now.The animal hospital is in a small converted home and could use an update in decor but the experience you and your fur babies have is first rate. Today I called to schedule an appointment and was notified we were not allowed to because of a late payment. I explained to the secretary that I never received anything from them indicating I needed to pay a bill. She explained well we got all the bills back in the mail and it said your phone were out of service. Huh that interesting because I've successfully received mail from them in the past and phone calls. After offering to drop a check off she said to wait. This secretary was the most unprofessional person I have ever met. She verbally attacked my mother and even tried to make her feel like everything was her fault. She said "what do you think we do things for free?" This is one of the many things she said that was rude. Not only was she rude to us but she continued to be verbally aggressive with her co-worker who felt bad and was just trying to help. I hope they address this secretary's attitude as it is very unwelcoming in a place that should be happy. I honestly am scared to go back but feel bad because the veterinarians are very pleasant and we've always loved them. The sad part is we have been going here for years and never had issues with payment. This is not how you treat a loyal customer. Hopefully this can be resolved.Read Less

My cats are 15 and 11, and we have been going to St Francis Animal Hospital for most of their lives. I cannot say enough about Dr Flynn and the staff. I adore them, and even though my cats are never crazy about going to the vet, the staff have a very patient and safe way of dealing with my cats' anxiety. I absolutely love this place - most recently, my sweet Homer (age 11) had to have a tooth pulled. The staff were so great, it was over quickly and Homer was immediately feeling back to his old self. I'm moving to Menominee Falls but will continue to see Dr. Alice & Dr. Flynn at SFAH because they're the best veterinarians I've ever had. The building isn't fancy or modern like some of its competitors, but you can rest assured that your pet will get super quality care here! I'm a pro dog groomer and trainer, so I've always been very selective about where I'll bring my animals for care. Not only have they been able to squeeze me in twice within twenty minutes' notice during critical visits, saving me pet-ER trips, they've consistently provided my animals with excellent and knowledgable care for years now. Not to mention, their rates are the lowest I've seen in my life. Half the time, I feel like I'm robbing the place when I pay my bill because it's so low! My family has been going here for about 20 years. We bring all our animals here. We moved 13 miles away, have many vets near us but continue to come here because we do like it here and so do our cats. We recently adopted a dog and decided to bring him here as well because we trust the staff and want all our pets to go to the same vet office. Once we had to put a cat to sleep, it was our first time having to do this. The office was very caring and professional with the family. We even received a card in the nail a few days later signed by the entire staff, that's a nice touch. I recommend this vet office to all. Read Less

I love this place. My dog had an ear infection, which in the past has cost me 200+. Naturally I was worried seeing as this was his 2nd infection in a couple months. Rufus was getting expensive. I called around, and Saint Francis was the nicest on the phone and had the lowest cost. The visit was nice too. I wasn't waiting long, and the veterinarian was very friendly. They even told me I could buy cheap ear wash somewhere else to help prevent this. I was amazed.That's why when he got a tapeworm a few weeks later I called them, again with a price quote. This time they only charged me for the medicine. Completely discounting the examination fees.I will definitely go there again. I'm just slightly disappointed they can't see my bunny, because they don't work on small animals. Read Less

We love St. Francis Animal Hospital! This was our second vet that we tried out for our puppy. Both doctors we have seen have been extremely helpful and informative. Our questions, from potty training to vaccinating, are answered thoroughly and thoughtfully. The front desk staff is friendly and helpful. Is it true that someone brought a cat for you to check the micro chip on and that you told that person you would find the owner. When the owner could not be located the person that found the cat said they would take it and find it a home. You said they couldn't and turned it over to MADACC which is a death sentence. Dr. Pritzl is awesome.  It's too bad he's down to only a couple of days per week.  I highly recommend him for cats.  This is our primary vet clinic for the routine stuff.  The staff is friendly, and while some of the vets are better than others, we've had fine experiences with them.  Honestly, I don't know what that low review is all about.  From what we can tell they diagnose just fine and we're fine with that.  They're close to home and seem to do a good job. My dog had cancer and we needed to bring him in as an emergency due to a breathing problem. She told us to come over right away. Unfortunately, he passed away, unexpectedly, on the table at the vet while at the office. Dr Flynn and everyone that cared for him in that last hour were very kind, compasionate, and even the tech shed a tear once our little guy was gone. It was traumatic. Despite everything that had happened very quickly and unexpetedly, Dr Flynn and her staff were comforting and took extra special care of my husband and myself. I have somewhat difficult animals and the staff at this clinic has handled them well. I also appreciate the fact I don't get lectures from them every visit about how fat one of them is.
