Vca Saukville Animal Hospital

Saukville, Wisconsin
General Info
VCA Saukville Animal Hospital is well-regarded in the local pet community for its considerate and holistic approach to animal healthcare. The Vca Saukville Animal Hospital in Saukville develops medical plans that consider entire families, supporting the pet owners of Wisconsin. The first visits are focused on comfort when animals are allowed to walk around and be themselves in the studio. Prior to conducting any physical tests, the veterinary team observes details like eye movements, tail positioning, shifts in walking patterns, and pressure sensitivity. Physical checkups involve looking at how the joints move, the weight and hydration levels, as well as the color of the gums or texture of the hair (thermal regulation). It entails owners documenting their morning routine alongside sleep cycles while looking out for any vocal tendencies and recent behavior change. Vca Saukville Animal Hospital implements medical protocols aimed at aiding pets in cases of sudden illness, surgical procedures and pain management, seasonal health changes, and chronic disease management. The support network entails laboratory tests and imaging referrals, while the infection prevention aspect focuses on senior animal protocols and emotionally intelligent recovery checklists. Plan arrangement ensures ample spacing and sequencing to reduce stress while keeping the pet owner informed. This is key when dealing with multiple pets or extensive medical plans. Interaction has its basis on communication. Notes are sent after visits, and follow up calendar alerts are optional as it is more important to know how the pet is adjusting rather than date fixed. The instruction of owners includes alerting them to subtle signs of regression and readiness to advance. Long-term care includes the pacing technique, scheduling on a choice basis, and reassurance method. Vca Saukville Animal Hospital is a practice that extends its veterinary services to Saukville and all of Wisconsin. It utilizes animal behavior information and family input to derive care plans consistent for patients and empathetic in the healing process. The practice provides a broad range of services, including Mobile Vet Services, Boarding, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, and Grooming. These services cover all aspects of a pet’s life, from general check-ups and health maintenance to specialized medical care. Pet owners praised the team’s professionalism, compassionate bedside manner, and the clinic’s ability to explain medical decisions in layman’s terms. Whether it is senior pet care or something urgent, the staff understands the importance of consistency and strives to build long-lasting relationships with clients. It also plays a vital role in educating the owners and providing preventive health strategies. VCA Saukville Animal Hospital actively supports local initiatives aimed at educating the public about responsible pet ownership. New and returning clients consistently point out how the practice evolves with modern veterinary methods.

We've been to a couple different vets/clinics in the Ozaukee County area and this is the first place that we got very thorough answers with treatment options for one of our cats that had extreme tartar/teeth issues and an eye issue from when we adopted her. The Vet was very knowledgeable, straight-forward and caring - wanting what was best for our cat. My husband has a degree in Microbiology and this is the only vet that gave him the scientific, knowledgeable answers we had been looking for and didn't dismiss his background in biology. Our cat's eye issue cleared up after prescribed treatment (a previous Rx from another vet did nothing) and we just had her teeth issue taken care of. They have gained our trust and loyalty! Thank you for all you do in caring for animals!Read Less

I no longer live in the area, so I had to switch vets, it took me 3 tries before I found one I liked. My dog has been having chronic health problems but no one seems to be able to pinpoint it so I have been doing a lot of researching on his symptoms. I contacted Dr. Sheperd via an email, he had to do some surgery on Charlie (my dog) when he was a pup and before I moved. Taking a long shot, I asked Dr. Sheperd if he might have any idea. He called me!!! We talked on the phone for some time and I walked away feeling much better and not so helpless. For a vet to go out of his way, and call (rather then just email) an old client and offer his knowledge is beyond just being a Vet. I highly recommend him for his compassion and expertise. Thank You Dr. Sheperd! Read Less

My husband and I started taking our pets here about 3 years ago. We started with our cat, Dexter, who was having many issues with crystals. Our old vet just "didn't have the time to see him because they were too busy". I called Saukville Vet and even though he wasn't a patient, they allowed us to bring him in immediately. We were hooked from that point on and never went back to the old place. Dexter is a little bugger, especially when he doesn't feel well, but they always take very good care of him regardless of this. I just can't say enough about the caring staff. Thanks so much for all you do. We appreciate it even if Dexter doesn't show it. :-) Read Less
