After Dr. Carlson retired, we brought our poodle Buddy in for his heartworm test and checkup with Dr. Mitchell. She was very thorough and explained everything in terms we could understand. They were very friendly, efficient, and my cat was so chill while he was there. Not at all like the cats I've had in the past that freaked out anytime we went to the vet. We had our first appointment earlier this month and let me tell you Dr. Noah Arnold was the best. Not only did he treat my dog really well, but he gave me the time and language to understand what was exactly going on. Throughout our visit he would make a list of the medication and vaccine options along with the price. He did not make me feel pressured to go one way or the other but gave really straight forward and sound advice that was best for my dog and my bank account. It was worth the 30 minute drive! My dog who suffered from seasonal allergies is back to normal! The medication he put her on was much better than the year before which kind of just knocked her out. Would highly recommend! Read Less

We have been seeing Dr. Mitchell for more than 13 years. She is a super caring and compassionate vet, who always takes the time to answer our many, many questions. She is also reasonable, not recommending the "nth degree" when it won't benefit our pet. Our geriatric dog has been receiving laser therapy for her hips for about a year, and it has definitely improved the quality of her life this past year. The therapy is mostly done by Sarah, who also seems genuinely concerned with our old girl. The front desk staff is friendly and helpful. Have been going to this clinic for at least 12 years and have had excellent care for all of my cats.  Dr. Mitchell is the go to vet for cats, although they are all very good.  She helped me during the last stages of my cat's life which was a good long 17 years, but it's always so heart breaking. She took great care with him and gave supportive care to the cat and also to me.I highly recommend this clinic. Really have never had any bad experience with any of the vets there. We unexpectedly lost our 7yr old dog Monty in February. He was a very big part of my life and our family. I know that Thiensville Mequon Small Animal Clinic and Dr Noah did everything possible to determine his diagnosis and try to do everything to save him. After his passing we received an incredibly thoughtful card which was very much appreciated and today 3 months later, my sadness is still very fresh but I was floored to receive a letter in the mail that the clinic made a donation in Monty's memory. Everyone is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I am very satisfied with the care that Tchotchke receives here. I love the people at the clinic!I have 2 elderly dogs and they are always concerned for their well-being and super helpful. The groomers there take extra time with them to make sure they are not scared or stressed and go the extra mile to keep them comfortable all the while making sure they get the grooming/attention they need! I love this clinic. We have been patients since moving to Mequon, and of Dr Noah's since he started here. I've been taking my pets to the vet their whole lives... and in all those years I can say that Dr Noah is hands down the best vet I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. My 2 cats immigrated with me several years ago and I'm very attached to them. In the past I have come across vets that overtreat by doing a lot of unnecessary and expensive tests, which can be painful (and traumatic). Dr Noah has been fantastic with my dear old cats. He is also fantastic with our dog. We know that our options are always laid out for us; and we also know he does not recommend testing and procedures unless it is necessary. Our animals have been in fantastic shape under Dr Noah's care. They are all a picture of health, and we are certainly comfortable and confident that they are receiving the best care possible. It's the first time I've been truly at ease leaving our fur babies at the vet's. I cannot recommend him highly enough. I also love Erin at the front desk. Everyone is great, but Erin is particularly good. I swear she must know every single pet that comes through the door by name. She is fantastic. This is really a great clinic.Read Less

I've been taking my cats to  Dr. Carlson since 1981.  He's one of the most compassionate people I've ever met.  Additionally the professionalism he shows is as great as it can get!  He's been with me when I brought a new kitten home and when I've had to say good-bye to them; his ability to relate to his client's needs are superb.  The staff is also the nicest and most competent around. Best veterinary experience I've had anywhere. Called to schedule an appointment for presurgery bloodwork as my dog needed to go under for teeth cleaning and removal of a growth on her eye. Dr. Stencel was excellent: friendly, caring, and took time to explain precisely what they would do and what the cost would be. As I had never put my dog under anesthesia before (she was fixed when I adopted her) I was quite nervous about a dog of her age going under, but Dr Stencel made me feel very confident that my dog was getting exceptional care. I scheduled the procedure for several weeks out.A few days after that first appointment, my dog had developed a small infection on her leg from aggravating a skin tag that had become swollen and very bothersome. I called them again and was able to bring her in on short notice to have it checked out by Dr. Arnold. He was also exceptionally friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. While the topical meds he sent me home with helped, the growth was still very irritating and I decided it needed to come off ASAP. Rather than wait the 2-3 weeks for my scheduled procedure, I was able to reschedule the appointment for two days later. That type of scheduling flexibility and accommodation is stellar, and saved me much worry and stress.Day of the procedure, I dropped her off in the morning and picked her up at the end of the day. My invoice was clear and reasonable for the work performed. Her teeth are cleaner than I've ever seen them, and everything else was completed with care and skill. I and my family have been clients of this clinic for as long as I can remember, and I doubt I will consider going anywhere else.
