I love this vet clinic. I've taken my cats here since first moving here (about 9 years ago), and when we moved *back*, after a short stint out of state, there was no question that we'd return as clients. I wouldn't trust my pets care to anyone else.

I wanted to give this place one star, but my stepmom && father keep assuring me this place is good, their dogs are still alive, &&& I'm not a medical professional so I don't completely understand why my pom's simple cleaning went so wrong. However I feel we all need to inform the public to make sure people know if there is a concerning pattern, esp in healthcare (even for pets).
This is the only time Tink had her cleaning done at this place (since I was unable to watch her for a year while I got settled in the Chicago suburbs). However she's had a cleaning every year since she was 3, at the time this happened she was 8 1/2. She was so sick from w/e meds/process they used. Apparently she vomited a lot for 3 days && had to go in for additional fluids. My stepmom even stayed home from work bc she was in such bad shape. After this new vet who lives by me evaluated the file they said they were unfamiliar w/ && didn't trust the meds that were dispensed.
Again I am not a healthcare professional. I just want other pet owners to know about my experience incase they have a negative experience as well.

I was referred to The Animal Hospital of Verona by my primary vet as my cat has some dental issues. I was able to get in pretty quickly, I called Saturday and we were seen Wednesday. We got the follow up procedure scheduled for the following Thursday. Dr. Hoelscher was super patient, listened to my concerns and even explained in detail with a drawing on the white board of what they were planning to do. I highly recommend them.

Animal Hospital of Verona is a great place for pet care. I've been taking my two cats there for over 4 years, and I've never been disappointed. We regularly see Dr. Smith, but all of the doctors, techs, reception staff are excellent. They have extended evening and Saturday hours, which is super convenient and those hours don't get taken up right away. If you want to see a certain doctor at a certain time, it might take a few days to find a spot; otherwise, they can get you in within a few days. I've never had an emergency, but I can imagine that if I did, they would do everything they could to get my cat in and give him whatever treatment he needed. There is no pressure to do certain treatment, and the pros and cons of each item is clearly discussed. The bills is easy to read and clear, and the prices are reasonable.

I took my rescued yellow napped amazon here for a general wellness exam and grooming services and they were so kind and helpful! Wynn was in great need for a beak trimming and it was hard for me to find a service that I could trust as I've read every horror story in the books about massacred beak trimmings... but he came out looking more handsome than ever. Somebody suggested Dr. Barney Smith for his avian experience and expertise and I'm glad Wynn was under his care. Thank you AHOV!!!

We have 2 pets that have been patients at the Animal Hospital of Verona for about 4 years. Both pets have gone through major procedures, including teeth cleaning and tumor removal. All procedures were fully explained to us prior to us giving the go ahead. We have seen all 3 veterinarians, and all take time to answer as many questions as we have. Some labs can now be done in house, so they are done quickly. All test results are explained in depth. We definitely recommend the Animal Hospital of Verona.

Dr Voss doesn't know what he is doing and improperly preformed a surgery on my bearded dragon's tail, then told me my dragon needed major surgery that he didn't actually need and told me at 6 months my bearded dragon was to young to sex. Dr Voss didn't know anything about the health or wellness of my bearded dragon and was completely unprofessional. I am very happy to have found Dr Mike at Spartan Animal Hospital who has a lot of knowledge with exotics including reptiles.

Although they are wonderfully nice people and I'm sure they are great with cats and dogs, I would not recommend bringing your reptile to them. My concern was a lump on the leopard gecko's stomach, and the vet didn't even notice there was a lump until I pointed it out to him. I also asked him questions that a vet who has any knowledge of reptiles should know, like: What is the best substrate to house them on? Can they get parasites? What is the treatment for impaction? And the only answer I got was ""I'm not sure, I'll have to call Dr. Hooke at Arbor Ridge Clinic"". This was very disappointing, and a complete waste of $37. I eventually went to Arbor Ridge Pet clinic and had a wonderful experience.

When I was moving to the Madison area eleven years ago, I asked my vet in Green Bay to locate a good vet clinic I could take my dogs to for care. She did some research and recommended the Animal Hospital of Verona. So, I have been coming to AHOV ever since then, and have been most happy w/ the care my dogs have received. I have dogs that come from rescue - all with medical problems. Dr. Voss and Dr. Smith are great w/ my boys, listen to my concerns and address the issues. I wouldn't go anywhere else. I highly recommend them!

I see my previous review was deleted. Do NOT take your reptiles here. Dr Voss doesn't know what he is doing and improperly preformed a surgery on my bearded dragon's tail, then told me my dragon needed major surgery that he didn't actually need and told me at 6 months my bearded dragon was to young to sex. Dr Voss didn't know anything about the health or wellness of my bearded dragon and was completely unprofessional. I am very happy to have found Dr Mike at Spartan Animal Hospital who has a lot of knowledge with exotics including reptiles.

Although they are wonderfully nice people and I'm sure they are great with cats and dogs, I would not recommend bringing your reptile to them. My concern was a lump on the leopard gecko's stomach, and the vet didn't even notice there was a lump until I pointed it out to him. I also asked him questions that a vet who has any knowledge of reptiles should know, like: What is the best substrate to house them on? Can they get parasites? What is the treatment for impaction? And the only answer I got was ""I'm not sure, I'll have to call Dr. Hooke at Arbor Ridge Clinic"". This was very disappointing, and a complete waste of $37. I eventually went to Arbor Ridge Pet clinic and had a wonderful experience.

When I was moving to the Madison area eleven years ago, I asked my vet in Green Bay to locate a good vet clinic I could take my dogs to for care. She did some research and recommended the Animal Hospital of Verona. So, I have been coming to AHOV ever since then, and have been most happy w/ the care my dogs have received. I have dogs that come from rescue - all with medical problems. Dr. Voss and Dr. Smith are great w/ my boys, listen to my concerns and address the issues. I wouldn't go anywhere else. I highly recommend them!
