My past experience with dogs here has been positive (the 2 stars is because of that only) but I'm rating this experience with my sick cat. It was frustrating, exhausting and beyond disappointing. I think I've lost trust in them. Last year we spent almost a week of visits racking up bills with Kuenzi for our sick cat. After a couple different doctors, multi x-rays, blood tests and hydration shots she was still wasting away and started throwing up green liquid. They wanted to do a lengthy $$$$ test that she may or may not live thru, and then determine if she would go to a $$$$ special surgeon over the weekend. We were well on our way to maxing out our credit cards. All the while she was obviously suffering. I was done messing around with more tests that may or may not help. Right away I took her and her records for a second opinion at Cream City Kitty. They figured it out in 5-10 minutes max! Dr and receptionist both said they see this a lot. Dr. could see a thread caught on the way back of her tongue that was now swollen and infected. Dr. also looked at the xray from Kuenzi and showed us how the other end was swallowed and caught up in her intestines, bunching and slicing at them. Cream City bypassed the extra tests and took her right to surgery. They removed thread and sewed up 8 spots in her intestines. She was in recovery by mid afternoon. I called Kuenzi that day to give them an update, and in my opinion she didn't seem very surprised or interested. I get that things get missed but it would of liked them interested in what happened so perhaps our case to help them catch something like this sooner for a future cat. Read Less

I've had nothing but great experiences at Kuenzi. I believe we have seen every vet they have there over the years, and each one has given our furry girls the very best care. I called the kuenzi family pet hospital and explained my situation. They had me on hold forever then finally came back and said they wouldn't help me or talk to me because we haven't been there before! Maybe if they gave some advice and weren't so rude, they would have gained a new patient...instead they just lost business! After, I immediately called Pahle animal hospital in west allis. They gave me some wonderful advice and have definitely earned my business!! I now am going to make the extra 25 minute drive to see them just to avoid kuenzi family pet hospital!!! Read Less

I was searching for vet and see that place that I never forget that , It has hurt me and my husband but we forgave them because they never told us that they has kept our dying dog in cage for some hours before surgery as we thought that our dog was in surgery in the morning, after surgery , Vet doctor called us that our dog need to be put sleep because it s cancer spread out in our dog s stomach. It got us very upset because We dropped our dog in the morning 8 am and they called me at around four pm . I puzzled why it is so long, they told me they just had surgery just before call us. I was very upset because they kept our dog in cage for hours, I told vet doctor you should have told us so we could have come to spend time with our dog before going to surgery and they tells me they put her down. I feel that they should do better than that. Now we are okay and move on because we forgave them. Read Less

Great place for a vet, WORST place for a groomer!!! We just had our Gooldendoodle groomed and their groomer, Julie, butchered our pup. Not only was the cut extremely uneven where some hair wasn't trimmed at all, other areas were cut so low our dog was bleeding. It was so sad. Never take your dog here to be groomed! Read Less

Ok. We have been coming here since 1990 and I just cannot imagine going anyplace else. Dr Rod is so smart and caring and fun that it has been a pleasure to know him and have him care for our dog babies. We have been together through thick and thin. His advice is so sensible and understandable and beneficial to our sweety Spot, who is still going after 12 years. His surgical expertise brought her through breast cancer among other challenges. The whole office is so nice and helpful. We have moved from Waukesha to downtown Milwaukee and we will always come here. Read Less

I was referred to Kuenzi and was extremely disappointed with my experience. There are so many people in the front office and yet they seem too busy to even look up and greet people walking in. I found them rude and very uninterested in being helpful. The decor is very 1970 and everything I saw for equipment looked rusted. After my pets surgery I picked him up to be checked out by a technician in a hallway. He looked so beat up and i did not feel good about incision. I was given again an ancient looking collar and told i could pay for that on way out even though I just wrote a $600 check! I never saw a doctor again until my 2 week appointment. He sent me out with an incision that looked infected and was warm to the touch. I went back in to get antibiotic on my request! He also was treated for a parasite twice and that was unsuccessful. Both my new vet and daycare seemed surprised at the protocol used to treat. Overall bad experience with a lazy front staff. Read Less
