These veterinarians are not only compassionate towards my five fur babies they are also so compassionate and understanding with my mental health disorders which are OCD, depression, and anxiety. They are so amazing! I love them so much please take your dogs and cats or any fur babies that you may have here to this Clinic because they truly care about you and your animal's welfare, they never make you feel hurried or anything like that, they will answer any questions that you have and if you have to wait it's definitely worth it. They will wholeheartedly tell you the truth and not charge you for unneeded things. Honestly, I don't know what I would do without them. They NEVER make me feel bad they go above and beyond my expectations. I KNOW I am a pain in the hinder but they never treat me that way. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Dr. Kayla (the sweetest), Dr. Stan (so great and compassionate), Dr. Robin (truly amazing and caring) and Dr. Elliot (straight forward and so funny). Heather ( most importantly), Kilah, Melissa, Jordan, Katie, Emily and Sarah are awesone especially when it comes to customer service. In addition, Dr. Aubrey saw my dogs for the first time today as she is new, she is very sweet, compassionate, and caring. She definitely is a great fit for this clinic. I liked her a great deal, however, I can't wait to see Dr. Robin as she for some reason deals with my anxieties to perfection. Lastly, all of these veterinarians( Dr. Stan, Dr. Kayla, and Dr. Elliot )are so amazing so great they don't make you feel like you're in a revolving door like other vets that I've been to they answer any questions and just love your fur babies as much as you do. We brought our elderly Newfoundland Dog here last night because she was limping and was having trouble getting up to stand. Dr. Robin Johnson did a good exam and determined the problem. She prescribed a medication that has helped greatly. Our dog went from not being able to stand to wanting to play ball this morning! Dr. Robin also suggested things to do to prevent more problems in the future. The staff was very friendly too. We are very pleased with our experience. Read Less

Don't take your pet here unless you want to deal with doctors that refuse to prescribe medicine to your pet that is needed for them to live unless you get bloodwork from them every month. And they charge $26 for 15 pills of felizomile when you can get 100 for $23 on Drs. Foster and Smith not to mention I save $100 on prescription food a month through them. The last time I took my cat there they actually skinned his chin. A huge chunk of skin was missing and they tried to cover it up by dousing his fur in some liquid so I didn't notice until I got home. Then when you call them and they say they will return your calls they never do and Dr. Elliot can't even take correct notes after an exam. She had my cats prescription at 2 pills a day which was wrong. He nearly died from only taking two pills a day and then she refused to fix it so i had to take another unnecessary blood test because of her mistake. Tbe first unnecessary blood test was when she told me to come in 2 weeks early for his blood work and then after it was done , she's like, Oh no, you are going to have to get another test in 2 weeks because you came too early. She gave me the date to come and I did. Totally incompetent doctor. Doctors come and go from this place like crazy. Stay away from this place if you love your pet and want quality care from doctors and staff that actually care. Read Less

I have been taking my family dog here since I received him (from my big brother) going on 2 year's and this place is AMAZING! They go above and beyond to answer questions about my dog to the point I'm comfortable and confident to make informed choices. They never try to solicit added nonsense or create make-believe charges. I called recently regarding my puppy having problems defecating and was in pain. No other vets were open besides this 24 hour clinic. I asked for some recommendations to last until tomorrow. Receptionist just kept saying we can't consult until we physically see your puppy and said to schedule an appointment. I just wanted a recommendation to soothe my puppy's pain. She responded like I was asking how to perform a surgery at home. Yes, I know its hard to consult through mobile but at least sound sympathetic and hospitable. That's where the word hospital stems from. Read Less

My regular vet was closed so suggested this vets office. The doctor was great the vet tech was great was waiting for my dog to be brought back to me the door was open. The doctor told me my dog was in the back whining and they weren’t able to get her shaved to take a test that they needed to. So as I was waiting by the door for my dog to be brought to me. I hear people in the back screaming shut up at the dog. Call the next day to try to talk to a manager only to get a call back by the receptionist to tell me it was not my dog they were screaming at it was somebody else’s. Like that was supposed to make me feel better also told me that since, i was so worked up she wanted to make sure that I knew it wasn’t my dog they were yelling at. Well who’s poor dog was it. What a horrible experience. If you don’t like your job or have patience to deal with scared animals then please find . Never got a callback from the manager or anything else about the experience. This is a really great facility. They always fit you in, and even when all hell is breaking loose (since they’re 24 hours and get a lot of emergency visits) you never seem to wait that long. The vets always spend a very good deal of time with my animals when examining them (I have both dogs and cats) answering all my questions and referring me to specialists as needed. I’ve been taking my animals there on an as-needed basis for three years but am going to make them my full-time vet. Their pricing is upfront and more than fair – I’ve expected to pay quite a bit more than I’ve been charged on several occasions. I meant to write a review back in March and forgot! Coming back from vacation after picking up my dog, she had an enlarged ear Hematoma. We didn't realize how big it was until we got back so we knew we had to take her in. There were a number of emergency vets that we could've went to in the Milwaukee area, but this one was the least expensive so we brought our pup in around 1am. She ended up getting surgery and we had a little waiting time before seeing the doctor since there was only one there that evening and a couple of other animals there as well. But nothing too extreme and I'm sure they treat the more serious cases first! She ended up getting surgery and we picked her up in the morning since we just got back from vacation and were exhausted. What really impressed me about this Animal Hospital is how caring they are of the animals and their owners. This was the first time my boyfriend and I dealt with anything like this, so I loved how I was able to call 24/7 and ask any questions (I'm sure the receptionist was annoyed by me though, sorry!). Plus, when we had to bring her in for check-ups we weren't charged every time like some other vets I've been too. Which is EXTREMELY helpful when you just paid hundreds of dollars for a surgery. I've considered switching vets just because of how great of an experience it was, but unfortunately it's a pretty far drive for us. Either way, I recommend them 100%. Hopefully we don't have any emergency visits in the future, but if we do this is where we will go! Read Less

Our 8 year old cat spent the last three days becoming ever increasingly reclusive. His appetite was dropping off as well. His voice was becoming raspy and quiet. My wife was becoming more and more worried so I hit Yelp for some emergency pet doctor info as our regular vet's  office was closed for the Jul 4th Holidays. MAH had some good ratings, was open 24/7, and was reasonably close to home so off we went. The Yelp ratings were spot on. The receptionist, the vet tech, and the vet herself were welcoming, compassionate, excellent listeners, and professional. The vet spent considerable time with our cat, asking us pertinent questions, and took her time reaching her conclusions. We had a frank conversation on our choices of action and the attached costs. Their prices were very much in line with our regular vet so I feel their motto of "Emergency care without the emergency price" was a fair statement. We felt much better about our treatment decision and felt that our cat and ourselves were better for the visit. I brought three outdoor cats here the other night. The Milwaukee Humane Society recommended that I go here since they are a 24 hour vet without the emergency pricing. I paid for one cat to be seen and left the other two in their kennel. All three cats had the same problem- an open wound. I didn't have the money to pay for all three to be seen (which I am glad I didn't) and came straight from the WHS, so I chose the cat with the worst wound. I paid $58.50 for a medical exam. However, I didn't exactly get a medical exam. My cat's temperature and weight were not taken. His ears, eyes, and mouth were not checked either. Had I realized right away, I would have mentioned something. It may not seem like a big deal, especially since he is an outdoor cat, but I still want what I paid for and he still deserves to be checked over. Just under $60 is a lot of money for a young college student to spend. When I asked what the vet thought the cause of the wound was, he wasn't exactly sure. He suggested a bite. When I brought up concern about the other two cats having similar wounds he said he didn't see them and my guess is as good as his. I understand that the other two stayed in their kennel and that I only paid for one cat to be seen, but if all three cats have similar wounds that should have helped the vet with narrowing down causes. I was hoping for a more definite answer and for a little more confidence in a cause. The vet wanted to shave, clean, help close up the wound, and give antibiotics to my cat. He wasn't sure what the wound was from, but he wanted me to spend about $311 to treat it. I want to help my cats, but I don't have that kind of money to spend on each farm cat when I am no where closer to knowing what the wounds are from and how to prevent them from returning. I am not just looking to treat the wounds, but also for information. I walked out the door telling my boyfriend that the $58 was a waste. I didn't get a full exam, nor did I find anything out that I already knew. Read Less

Last year one of my cats was hanging out in the litterbox far too much and I knew something was amiss. Of course this also happened at about 12:30am and I immediately went into panic mode unsure of where to go. I knew I needed my cat seen immediately but I was low on cash. I usually went the route of going to St. Paul's because everyone says they are cheap, but they weren't open. I found this clinic and since I live fairly close, this is where we went. We were seen right away and had compassionate care from everyone we interacted with. I was really sad to learn that my cat had to stay for a few hours because they had to run some tests. They called me around 3:30 and I came back, and learned she had crystals. We got antibiotics at a reasonable price. And the vet also educated us about the food we had been using. I was using a grain free purina, but it still wasn't healthy for my cats to break down. Part of Brenda (my cat's) new diet was a prescription urinary food that all my cats now receive. I believe this switch to prescription food has positively changed their lives longterm. Read Less

Mayfair Animal Hospital is something I wouldn't have known about without Yelp and so I'm truly, sincerely grateful because when you need an emergency vet, it's not a fun thing. Our older dog somehow managed to tear a nail off outside - of course it's at 6pm on a Saturday when our regular vet is closed. This location is mere minutes from home, open 24/7, they don't charge "ER" prices and most importantly they take care if your pet like it's their own. We arrived and were shown to an exam room within minutes. They stopped the bleeding, found that she also had a puncture wound and cleaned everything up. They didn't charge us an exam fee so our total was $49. For an ER visit? Amazing! Plus everyone who works here was super nice. If your pet needs care off hours or if you work weird hours and need a vet, I can't recommend them enough. Read Less

We brought my 10 week old great dane puppy here a few weeks ago because she was vomiting, developed diarrhea, and had stopped eating, we were instructed by our vet to take her to an ER vet. After being examined she was given anti vomiting and anti diarrhea meds and a lot of fuilds. We were told that she should be feeling much better in the morning and she should start eating again. If not then i should basically force fed her to get the ball rolling a bit. The next day she was worse, much worse. The reason i give this place 1 star is because when the vet was preforming his exam and talking to me he was feeling her stomach area the entire time. The exam lasted about ten minutes not once is this time did he say anything about an xray or did he express concerns about her having an intestinal blockage. After she got worse we took her to a different vet and as soon as he seen her he felt her tummy and said she ate something, he said "you can feel it right here" as he felt the same spots the previous vet was feeling the day before. Xrays later proved that she did indeed have an intestinal blockage. The vet preformed the surgery and removed the blockage, but it was to late she wasn't able to survive the recovery because her little body was to weak and she passed that night. After talking to people, both vets and other pets owners, we told over and over that when a pet stops eating, vomits and develops diarrhea it is almost always because the ate something they shouldn't have. Had it not been for the misdiagnosis i would like to believe that she would have been treated a day earlier and been strong enough to survive the surgery and would still be with us today. I don't know how a vet with any experience misses what seems to be such and obvious problem. There are other er vets in the area and in the future when my family gets another pet we will not be using this one Read Less

After two weeks, I got pretty concerned so I decided to take #medinaq in for a checkup.Mayfair Animal Hospital is more of an ER for animals than a regular vet, but on a slow Sunday we were able to get my little girl in pretty quickly. The staff - from the registration/intake team to the vet - were all thoughtful and thorough. We talked about options and ran some tests - $200 or so for a full blood/urinalysis - and the results came back in about two days. Thankfully, my crabby old lady is in pretty great health, save for some stanky cat breath.Luke jokes that Medina and I are tied... like, cosmically or something. We're like familiars. It's true.I knew she was sick/something wasn't quite right, and I knew she needed to be looked at, but homegirl HATES the vet. They were patient with her crabbiness and were able to sedate her a bit for the tests. Overall, I'm glad we went in and glad that everything looked good - I think her puke party was a result of the fact that I switched her food brand on her. I know I won't be able to have Medina with me forever, but I've got some time with her yet (hopefully lots!) and I'm so glad Mayfair was open and able to do a work-up on Medina. Open on weekends/Sundays! Read Less

I took my 17 year old cat here at midnight on the night before New Years Eve. I called ahead to make sure they would be open and not have weird holiday hours--the receptionist was very nice and asked me some basic information so I wouldn't have to retell it when I got there (cut down on some of the work so the vet could get started right away.) It was pretty empty, but they still had a good amount of staff there (probably about 4 people that I saw around.) The vet was very personable and kind. Both he and the tech remarked at how pretty my cat is (which all cat owners love) and was very empathetic towards her (which is reassuring to see a vet do.) He explained the biology behind what was probably the matter (dehydration leading to constipation, which makes cats throw up, and she was in a lot of pain from it.) He also explained what might be causing it and suggested I follow up with my regular vet to do further testing of her kidneys. He said that he could do it, or we could just fix the problem at hand tonight and make sure she was comfortable. When we went in the back so he could show me the scans they did and explain what the issue is and what he was going to do to fix the situation, I saw her in her cage next to a lot of sleeping animals. She shook her back foot (a thing she does when she feels it's wet or cold) and he asked if that's something she does often, so I told him she doesn't like the floor in the cage and he immediately found a soft, fuzzy blanket and fixed up her cage to make sure she was more comfortable. They explained the pricing for what they expected to have to do and how long it would take ($375 and 2 hours), and about an hour later, they were finished and my bill was only $180. I told the receptionist that it didn't seem right--the vet had told me around $375. She said that they like to give the worst case scenario that they're expecting so if it changes, it'll likely be in the client's favor. They gave me a summary of everything they thought might be something my regular vet would want to take a look at, meds for my kitty, and some serious peace of mind knowing that I found a 24hr emergency vet that I would recommend to any fellow pet owners. I used to come here a lot until I got tired of the mediocre service and attitude that my pets and I received. I have come here recently ONLY because I needed emergency care for 1 of my cats and they are now open 24/7 but don't have the emergency care prices that an emergency vet hospital would. I still follow up with my regular vet though.I will caution you to really pay attention to what the vet says they want to do and always ask to see what you're paying for before handing over payment and double check the services you're being charged for. The vets always want to do multiple tests (4 or 5) at one time instead of doing 1 or 2 at a time and seeing if the other tests are necessary. I have caught charges on there that shouldn't be (unfortunately it was after I had paid) and they don't give a refund at all. They leave it as a "credit" on your account and hope you forget you have it the next time you come in. These are the big reasons I have moved to another vet clinic where they have a much better attitude and take better care of my pets. Read Less

I recently adopted a puppy and brought him home. He became very ill. He was found to be positive with parvo. Mayfair animal hospital was amazing. They provided wonderful care for my new puppy Bryson. Dr. Stan and and Dr. Gordon were incredibly informative and patient with us. They provided wonderful care. From the doctors to everyone on the staff they were incredibly helpful every step of the way. They also provided us with several treatments and medicine on the house to help us along the way. The costs were very reasonable compared to other vets we have been to. Bryson is home safe loving life because of their care. I can't speak more highly of them. Also I was treated like an intelligent adult when they explained anything to me. In addition I was able to be present with some exams and procedures which I like because it allows me to make my pet comfortable. Thank you to the staff at Mayfair Animal Hospital. Read Less

Read Less

It was so nice to go somewhere when we needed semi urgent care without regular ER prices. My oldest dog was urinating blood, which turned out to be a UTI, but it could have been worse. The staff was so nice, from the front desk to the veterinarian. Will 100% return when our regular vet can't get us in and am recommending them to everyone I know. Though I love all of the animal ERs near me, this was the best place to go for quick care for something that wasn't a life or death situation. Read Less

I have been to the Mayfair Clinic several times and I feel I have had very good treatment for my animals. My only concern is that I am in the exam room a long time waiting for the vet to come in. Sometimes from 20 to 25 minutes before anyone comes in though I have to remember they are an emergency clinic and are open 24/7 so anybody can walk in with an emergency and would have priority over me if I am there for just a general appointment so I do understand that. I just have to always remember that I will be there probably longer than if I went to my normal vet with an appointment.

A few weeks back, my beyond beloved feline companion started puking on the regular.Cats puke and more so than some other animals (humans included), but they're not supposed to puke on the regular.

Read Less
