Was not thrilled with our experience. In all fairness out initial visit was free because we adopted our dog from the local humane society. We had to pay for a couple vaccinations which was expected but the visit was rushed and no prices were discussed until after treatment was given. I was told that he needed month tick and heartworm prevention medications. As a new pet owner I was unsure and just bought what I was told he needed. I didn't realize that the medications required prescriptions. I decided to shop around because it was a new monthly expense, which to me seems like a reasonable thing to do. I researched prices online and at Costco and found prices that were 30-50% less. I contacted the clinic and requested a script be sent to Costco and was informed that a $10 fee is charged per script. I understand this tactic is legal but felt unnecessary to me. I called around to three other clinics in the area and inquired about charges for sending prescriptions and all three told me they do not do so. I went into the clinic and explained that in my research it does not seem like charging for a prescription is common practice and asked if the fee could be waived. I was told that it was not possible. I had to miss a follow up appointment for a booster lyme vaccination due to a schedule conflict. I ended up going to a vaccine clinic at petco because it worked with our schedule and I didn't want to wait too long and have to start the series over. I brought all of the medical history and vaccination information we had from the humane society and the veterinary clinic and the vet at costco explained that our puppy was actually due for a third DHPP. This seems like it was missed by the West Allis vet as it was never discussed or scheduled (again as a new pet owner I would have never known.) When I went in to West Allis Vet Clinic to tell them about it they informed me that the person that checked us in for the initial appointment wrote down the vaccination information incorrectly and he is actually due for another vaccination. When I asked why this wasn't caught when I presented all of the paperwork at the initial appointment and they just said they would find out who checked us in and talk to them. Prior to leaving I purchased a flea and tick medication that was recommended by one of the office staff at the clinic. They helped me weigh my dog and had all of his information and sold me what I believed to be the proper medication. When I got home I went to give my puppy the medication and read that it was for dogs 6 months and older. My puppy is 5 months. I called the clinic back to see if it was safe to give him the medication and they spoke to the vet and told me I should wait a month. I expressed my disappointment with the services and told them I would be looking for a new vet in the future. I was told that our account will be deactivated. Absolutely no attempt to resolve the situation. I will be sure to research providers in the future instead of going to the one that is closest. Read Less

I took both of my cats here, they took good care of them and the visit was very affordable. I will continue to bring my boys here for anything they might need. I would highly suggest this place for your fur babies. Read Less
