Not only was I misquoted on the phone for a simple hair cut, I was then rudely treated by the veterinarian in charge. I got booked for a checkup when this is not what I asked for, and was guilted into letting these guys do both the checkup and the haircut. In the end I paid 3 times as much as I was told I was going to owe over the phone. And the vet, after I expressed my outrage, tried to sell me MORE unnecessary procedures for my 5 year old, perfectly healthy, indoor cat. I would have gone to a groomer but my cat is easily stressed so she needs sedation to get her yearly lion-cut (doesn't like to be brushed). The sad thing is I had been bringing my cat here for three years previously for all her shots and vaccinations and grooming. She didn't need her shots this year and they STILL tried to convince me she did (even though last year they had told me it was her last round needed for three more years). The vet is a master manipulator. Never again.

Helpful and friendly staff, quite pricey but I have never been to other vet clinic before so not very sure. My cat was diagnosed with crystals in bladder because we fed him too much of dry commercial food (we did feed him wet canned food too but as a cat he doesn't drink much water). So we had to put him on special urinary diet (wet and dry but vet food like Royal Canin) which costs quite a lot for student budget and had to do it for at least 6 months. But as long as my cat is healthy I'm happy. They do have afterhour call center so I think their service is not bad

This review is from a while back. They might have new vets and fired the one I had. I still think people should be aware of the service I got there. I now have more cats and took them elsewhere for ALL their veterinary appointments.... They ruined my cat’s paws. I was not aware that declawing a cat was bad for my cat (I am now) My family and friends suggested I get my cat declawed. I did. I wish they would have told me at the clinic. Not only did they declawed my cat...they did a botch job (as per another vet) they ruined the digital paws on all his paws. The digital paws should not be affected by this surgery at all! This is not a vet clinic it’s a butchershop. I can see the scars and he won't let anyone but me touch his paws. I will forever feel guilty. Because of me my cat will and has feel pain everyday of his life. Don’t make the same mistake I did. Im so sorry Logan. 😿😿😿

It's good that they are only animal doctors!!! The head VET is so rude! offering you explaining stuff that she want and then complaining about the time she spent on you!!!!They will force you to pay for a vaccine that they think is better instead of consulting for possibilities. I took my cat there because she was not eating, I spend $250 and yet she is not eating!!! They just would tell you to buy their food!!! apparently that way your cat would eat!!!

Cats only makes for a much more calm and quiet waiting room! Dr Beaudin is very generous with her time. We take both of our 14 year old cats here and have been very pleased.

I took my cat here for the first time after having had a bad experience at a different vet and I wish I had come to this clinic earlier. Unfortunately this was the day I had to put my kitty to sleep, but the way the doctors treated me and my cat was very kind and respectful. The doctor was honest and was thinking about what was best for the cat, without trying to get me to do unnecessary scans that would not make her better but would only cost more money. About the euthanasia, I really appreciated how the doctor explained every single step so I knew exactly what to expect and how they created a cosy environment for my cat and me (they put her on a blanket and dimmed the light while also stroking her). Although this was a heart breaking experience for me, the kindness of the doctors was really consoling.

They've worked with us to create preventative strategies that address potential problems without suggesting invasive testing or sedation. They aren't scared when he protests, and can read the difference between obstinance and aggression.

I can't say enough good things about these guys, and I have spent enough time with them over the past year to know! I have been taking my cats to Cats Montreal for over 10 years now. I would usually pop in once or twice a year with a sick cat or a new kitten and each time the vets and staff where kind, knowledgable, and efficient, but over the past year they have gone above and beyond.This past year has seen the passing of two of our older cats, two new kittens, and series of mild medical issues with each of our other cats which has brought me to their door at least once a month, and sometimes more often. They remember each of my cats and their names, they comforted me in the deaths of our two older cats, they have spent all the time my cats needed to make sure they where happy and healthy with each examination. They happily answer my questions when I call with worries about my cats health without making me feel like a crazy cat lady. That have made time to see me after opening hours. They always call me a few days after a vet visit to check up and make sure the patient is doing well, and to see if I have any worries and they are always happy to do follow up visits free of charge.It is clear that the doctors and staff at Cats Montreal care deeply about the animals they treat. I only wish I could find the equivalent medical care for my human loved ones!

I think the real test of a "caring" vet is how they respond in a trying situation when money is tight and the life of your pet is at risk. In my case, my beloved male cat presented with serious urinary symptoms on a weekend and at the worst possible time- I had just started a new job and was very much in no financial position to even consider seeing a vet. Knowing full well at his age (9) that urinary tract problems can be extremely serious if not fatal, I called Chats Montreal to consult. After a very brief discussion wherein I disclosed what was happening with my cat and my non-existent finances, Dr. Louise Beaudin agreed, nonetheless, to see me and my cat at no charge to at least assure me he did not have a potentially fatal blockage. She examined him and assured me that he did not and that he should come back for a full checkup so she could isolate the cause. Over the next 24 hours a friend graciously agreed to lend me the money to see the vet and to my surprise, Dr. Beaudin called me at home on Sunday night to see how he was doing at which time she gave me a 9AM Monday appointment and instructed me on how to collect a urine sample. On Monday I saw Dr. Beaudin and she gave him a full exam, pointed out what she was doing (and why) every step of the way, and then --once she had eliminated the most serious of conditions-- instead of throwing more expenses my way with potentially expensive tests and medications, she presented a very holistic approach to treating his problem. I am very happy to say that upon following her recommendations my beloved cat is making huge improvements and is almost back to his old self. I know many vets who would have done multitudes more tests and thrown antibiotics, etc. at me but Dr. Beaudin took a very enlightened approach with complete sympathy for my financial situation and offering excellent care to my cat. I would categorically say that Dr. Beaudin offered me service that you wouldn't get at most places for 1000x more the expense and I highly recommend Chats Montreal for any of your furry little feline friends.

Can't believe I didn't review them sooner. I took my two cats there from 2006 until 2010. One of my cats was diagnosed with CRF (Chronic Renal Failure) in 2008 and Drs Beaudin and Brunet put her on a regime that has kept her mostly stable. They are definitely pricey, however. Here where I am in France currently, prices for certain CRF monitoring tests are half of what they cost at Chats Montreal - and that's with the currency exchange factored in! So be prepared to drop some cash or negotiate with staff. Nevertheless, I do believe my cats received solid treatment and care, especially in the case of my CRF kitty, whose disease was caught early (only because I mentioned that she drank a lot of water). Dre Louise Beaudin in particularly is very caring and explains everything. In sum - an excellent, if pricey, feline clinic.

Not only was I misquoted on the phone for a simple hair cut, I was then rudely treated by the veterinarian in charge. I got booked for a checkup when this is not what I asked for, and was guilted into letting these guys do both the checkup and the haircut. Helpful and friendly staff, quite pricey but I have never been to other vet clinic before so not very sure. My cat was diagnosed with crystals in bladder because we fed him too much of dry commercial food (we did feed him wet canned food too but as a cat he doesn't drink much water). I would usually pop in once or twice a year with a sick cat or a new kitten and each time the vets and staff where kind, knowledgable, and efficient, but over the past year they have gone above and beyond.This past year has seen the passing of two of our older cats, two new kittens, and series of mild medical issues with each of our other cats which has brought me to their door at least once a month, and sometimes more often. They remember each of my cats and their names, they comforted me in the deaths of our two older cats, they have spent all the time my cats needed to make sure they where happy and healthy with each examination. They happily answer my questions when I call with worries about my cats health without making me feel like a crazy cat lady. That have made time to see me after opening hours. They always call me a few days after a vet visit to check up and make sure the patient is doing well, and to see if I have any worries and they are always happy to do follow up visits free of charge.It is clear that the doctors and staff at Cats Montreal care deeply about the animals they treat. I only wish I could find the equivalent medical care for my human loved ones!

I think the real test of a "caring" vet is how they respond in a trying situation when money is tight and the life of your pet is at risk. In my case, my beloved male cat presented with serious urinary symptoms on a weekend and at the worst possible time- I had just started a new job and was very much in no financial position to even consider seeing a vet. Knowing full well at his age (9) that urinary tract problems can be extremely serious if not fatal, I called Chats Montreal to consult. After a very brief discussion wherein I disclosed what was happening with my cat and my non-existent finances, Dr. Louise Beaudin agreed, nonetheless, to see me and my cat at no charge to at least assure me he did not have a potentially fatal blockage. She examined him and assured me that he did not and that he should come back for a full checkup so she could isolate the cause. Over the next 24 hours a friend graciously agreed to lend me the money to see the vet and to my surprise, Dr. Beaudin called me at home on Sunday night to see how he was doing at which time she gave me a 9AM Monday appointment and instructed me on how to collect a urine sample. On Monday I saw Dr. Beaudin and she gave him a full exam, pointed out what she was doing (and why) every step of the way, and then --once she had eliminated the most serious of conditions-- instead of throwing more expenses my way with potentially expensive tests and medications, she presented a very holistic approach to treating his problem. I am very happy to say that upon following her recommendations my beloved cat is making huge improvements and is almost back to his old self. I know many vets who would have done multitudes more tests and thrown antibiotics, etc. at me but Dr. Beaudin took a very enlightened approach with complete sympathy for my financial situation and offering excellent care to my cat. I would categorically say that Dr. Beaudin offered me service that you wouldn't get at most places for 1000x more the expense and I highly recommend Chats Montreal for any of your furry little feline friends.

Can't believe I didn't review them sooner. I took my two cats there from 2006 until 2010. One of my cats was diagnosed with CRF (Chronic Renal Failure) in 2008 and Drs Beaudin and Brunet put her on a regime that has kept her mostly stable. They are definitely pricey, however. Here where I am in France currently, prices for certain CRF monitoring tests are half of what they cost at Chats Montreal - and that's with the currency exchange factored in! So be prepared to drop some cash or negotiate with staff. Nevertheless, I do believe my cats received solid treatment and care, especially in the case of my CRF kitty, whose disease was caught early (only because I mentioned that she drank a lot of water). Dre Louise Beaudin in particularly is very caring and explains everything. In sum - an excellent, if pricey, feline clinic.
